We learnt from Adrian Hibbs of WSI why social media is not a fad. Why it is not something that will pass you or your company by. We discussed the plethora of current applications and tools that are available for use with Social Media and online networking, and how they can help our respective businesses (both as employer or employee), engage customers and your profiles. We learnt that social media has far reaching effects that permeates into every business, reaching all job roles. It is worldwide, pervasive and its growing at an alarming rate. Adrian explained the fundamental change in how we do business that is heading our way, this is of course driven by the networked communication tools flourishing on the web, tools like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. We explored the changes to come and how we can better communicate with those who benefit from our products or services. Adrian discussed what these changes mean for business and how they represent exciting opportunities to ensure that business is never the same again. We learnt that the various flavours of social media can't live in isolation from other forms of marketing and business communication, they are too ingrained in the everyday habits of our customers. We briefly touched on formal strategies for social media for business. In order to have a successful strategy there are three elements that need to be considered; the real world, the traditional media and digital media and and how we would use each to best engage with our customers. It became apparent, that having an effective strategy to bring social media into our marketing campaigns and grow our audience reach can help gain an advantage over our competitors and grow our market share.
And Adrian also kindly offered a discount of 15% on any of his services. So please do remember to mention Deals in Heels when you contact him. If this is of interest then of course I am more than happy to facilitate an event. I think to make best use of such an event I would have to keep the numbers very small and have a ‘hands-on’ type of session. If you wish to proceed with this, please do let me know and I shall arrange it for you.
